Two Finished Blankets

I finished 2 blankets last week. Finally. Bother are supposed to go to nursing homes but my Mom hasn’t found one yet to take them this year.

Harry PotterThis was a swap last year in the Vannas Choice fan club on Ravelry. I finally got it put together. Nothing special. Single crochet around each square then slip stitched the squares together. The border is just a plain sc border. It looked more manly then girly so I wanted to make sure it could go either way.

Mystery AfghanThis was a CAL in Vannas Choice fan Club this year. It is the Hexaghan by the lovely Julie Yeager and you can buy it from Ravelry. I used Red Heart and I Love This Yarn but it was designed to use Vannas Choice yarn.

I would love to make a Mystery CAL – or as its called on Vannas Choice Fan Club Mysteryghan. However with everything going on I doubt I will get to do it in 2012. Maybe 2013 if I make it that far. I need to get the heal of my sock done so i can show off those socks I have been working on since May. I want to get them done before we move to Arizona. I am also working on putting granny squares together with some bright orange yarn. I have no idea why Red Heart has bright orange named pumpkin and the burnt orange color named carrot. It should be the other way around.

Also Hev I am sorry I didn’t get to send you anything. I really wanted to. Maybe next year. But I said that last year too.

Hey, we are friends, you are not supposed to get me anything. I like giving more then I do receiving. You have a lot going on. But I know a bright spot is coming. At least, I hope you will like it. *wink* & *hugs*

  2. I just got the email. Thank you so much!!!!!

Oh, that is so sweet – that you make blankets and donate them to nursing homes. I read about donating baby hats and other items to the NICU units and I have always wanted to do such a thing. :)
